My bag got snatched from my lap yesterday while I was at Food Foundry Rest in PJ at around 5:30pm. Seems it's not the first time it has happened there. Perhaps there should be notices in the restaurant to ask the customers to be more careful. But is that akin to admitting your restaurant is not a safe place to eat in, and hence better to pretend all is well and hope it doesn't happen again??

A note of reminder, please be very careful with your bags and personal belongings wherever you are. I dropped my guard for just a moment (I am usually very careful with my backpack) as it was a very quiet area, and I lost everything in my bag, including my IC, driving license, iPod, ATM cards, credit cards, mobile phone, house key, safe deposit key and more. Looks like I've lost most of your phone numbers too, so would appreciate if you could email me your numbers again. Thanks.

Worry about dropping your house keys? Leave it in the car. Worry about car being broken in or stolen? Carry them with you. Worry about snatch thieves? Leave it in the house?? Sigh.... this is the world we live in now... Maybe next time, we should just have a PIN to get into our house.

We have to be very careful nowadays
Hope you get all your things done without much hassle for I know what it means to renew and report and reget those card thingee
and just a couple of nights ago when I spoke to my Mom, she said she was robbed somewhere near our house by two fellas on a bike last weekend! eek!! she still shudders when she thinks about it. is KL not safe any more? *sigh*
I was at Food Foundry at around 4 till 5 yesterday! My friend wanted to take her son to eat the Mille Crepe cake. I have stopped going there since the change in the food menu and hike in prices plus food standard dropping! I wonder if you were there when I was there. Anyway, sorry to hear about what happened to you. It's a shame that we have to live our lives being so paranoid about such things...Sigh...
OMG! Are you ok though?!!! No scars, ok? Just be more careful. It's really bad -ve chi. I am so sorry to hear this.. It's really awful. But I am glad you're ok, even though all those documents and objects you had in your bag are no play play stuff.. So sorry.
eeekk....been there a couple of times and i thought it's kinda safe place.

sorry to know you lost so many important things and yes, it's a big hassle to get them replaced.
**hugzz**
sorry to hear that :(
Nowadays we have to be extra careful
that's malaysia for u now... terrible. the cost of development, that's what i can call it.
That burns me up. It is horrid that you can not enjoy yourself in a restaurant without having your purse snatched. Cripes!!!
Hey I'm sorry to hear about what happened. I hope you're okay. Thanks for the warning. Will be careful.

Actually most of the replacement of bankcards are done through the phone, so not much hassle. Only thing is getting the right number because the numbers are usually found on the cards!!

Oh dear, sounds like the same gang. The policeman was telling me a similar incident happened in Dsara Jaya about an hour later after mine. Hope your mum didn't get hurt. No, I guess KL isn't that safe anymore...

wmw:
You were?? Were you sitting outside? I saw a table of people sitting outside but they left before the incident happened.
I try not to get paranoid. Bad enough they rob me of my belongings, I refuse to let them rob my peace of mind!!

LB:
I'm fine, thanks! And no visible scars.. yet!! :D Your comment is really sweet... sweetest one I've ever read!! Thanks, hunny, for making me smile!

nyonya:
You also think it looks safe-leh? Next time, go anywhere also must be extra careful! sigh...
*hugzz bek nyonya*

chen:
Ya-lor. Sometimes really sien have to worry about so many things...

zewt:
Cost of development... why can't it be those who are pillaging and plundering the country who pay?? :P

SA:
I know!! Terrible to have to be on guard all the time, ain't it??

LL:
I'm ok now. Thanks. Just thought you'd like to know because it seems like such a safe and quiet place.
Gosh! Sorry to hear about this as I know how traumatic it is. You mean, this was at the restaurant itself, they came over and snatched it? That's bad.
kat, oh dear i'm sorry to hear this. got over after the tip off by boo_licious. all these while the hawker places we visited usually will warn us about this but i never thot it could happen in a restaurant proper.

Look like Malaysia is no longer a safe place. My sister handbag got snatched right outside her office in Taman Segar, Cheras 3 weeks ago. 2 cellphone, digital camera, cash, c. card, i/c etc. So be extra careful when you are at that area. This happen to her for the second at time same area.

Yeah, I was sitting at a table outside the restaurant, just next to the road. The thief came up from behind me and snatched it off my lap!! Dahsyat!! You better be careful and sit inside the next time you are there.

babe:
Those hawkers have better conscience then!! Even snatch thieves also know what restaurants are popular!
The worse thing is that this does not affect me alone. I have to get my parents involved to look after the kids while I run about and also get mrkat to call the card centres from overseas because I am a suppcard holder. And today I just found out I have to go to the airline office to verify I am indeed the cardholder who bought the online tickets as I booked some tickets for the coming school holidays. Lucky I remembered we have to show the actual credit card , otherwise we won't be allowed to board!!
Phew! Just had to get that off my chest!! LOL

We do have to be careful indeed whenever we are at busy commercial areas. Sect 17 is quite well-known for snatch thieves, but all this time I was only on my guard whenever I am walking the streets. Never thought it could happen in a restaurant tucked inside, away from the main road.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you, and I heard two days after what happened to you, another lady who ate at 6 to 10 nasi lemak grilled got her bag snatched from her lap. I'm sure Food Foundry or 6 to 10 dont want this to happen to their customers. It is the stupid criminal who snatched our bags that we should be angry at!!
really sorry to hear about ur snatch case kat. i read about it on babeKL's blog. glad you weren't hurt in the process.

really hope the ***** thiefs will get their pou ying soon.

I am pleased to say that FF and 6-10 have informed the management of their premises of these incidents. Hopefully security can be beefed up a bit more to deter the thieves.

ac:
Hi ac! Thank you for dropping by. Yes, I am very thankful it was not any worse! The perfect retribution would be these motorbike snatch thieves get banged by carjackers!! *evil laugh*
